Sever Ever
by Bryan Espiritu
While wishing you could rethink the darkness we fought
I’m just trying to be a morning while you’re mourning your loss.
Steady finding the design of my efficiency costs
much less, when you’re the edge that’s outside of the crops.
The ties are never severed if you never needed them first,
The softness against the harsh is how the harnesses work.
The part about us parting is in parts the absurd
Aspect of the respect my interests had incurred.
I don’t need more friends than I can count on in grands
I need friends that I can count on while in need of some hands.
And much less for the applause, save the ovation and stand
For something more than being branded by the ubiquitous brands.
I’ll do my best to stay grounded in the wind of the fans,
And punch numbers with my hands, I’ll never, “Say A Command”.
Rubber and glue, unlike you, I’ve never played in a band,
Since I’m elastic it’s my circle that I choose to expand.
The drastic, past talks are passé while in the fast lanes.
My last name is gonna last past the grass stains.
And the gardens always greener when it last rained,
You were looking for a flat change when my path came.
A rolling stone collects everything but moss it seems,
But passed patches act as if they want their costs redeemed.
When in dreams we’ve only spent our time in lives between,
Sleeping’s just the dark side of greatness wakeful eyes have seen.
So I can sigh only so little just to waste a breath,
You can save the best for those you haven’t hated yet.
Every attempt to have me fucked, here’s what I may suggest,
Everything you lie about is worth it if you make the bed.
I can’t feel guilt for the things that you’ve been faulted with.
And I don’t answer calls from strangers when they call the crib.
But I can answer to insults you’ve always thought to give:
I don’t stand for NO ONE’s bullshit nor do I fall for it.
